ImpactPCB and LifeGlue win at Startup Day
TARTU — ImpactPCB and LifeGlue Technologies won the main awards at the Startup Day pitching competition, receiving investment offers totalling up to 150,000 euros each from the syndicate coordinated by the Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBan).
BSV Ventures said it would offer up to 200,000 euros in investment to LifeGlue.
LifeGlue develops clinically compatible bioink that enables researchers to build functional human tissues and organs. Their hydrogel platform supports better tissue growth and helps bridge the gap between lab research and clinical application.
Founder Laura Kuittinen told Fomo.Observer that the investment will enable the company to scale the business first in Europe and then to North America.
ImpactPCB turns electronic waste into a valuable resource by recovering precious and critical metals through advanced dry mechanical processing. Their technology supports Europe’s recycling economy while improving resource security and reducing dependency on raw material imports.
“What we’re doing, in brief, is that we are getting copper, steel alloys, and aluminium out of electronic waste. What remains has more gold than it originally had, and it’s already far, far better,” ImpactPCB’s Chief Product Officer Deniss Klauson told Fomo.Observer.
”The amounts, which we in Europe throw away yearly, are huge. You wouldn’t believe the numbers until you looked at them. This is about not just making money, but about our resource security and independence as well,” he said.
With the funding, the firm aims to set up a stationary plant and give some runway to focus on sales growth.
